Was very impressed with this clinic.  The staff was great and nurse practitioner was excellent.  I felt really bad and kept thinking it would get better but it didn’t.  Glad that Ascension Urgent Care was open and could see someone on Sunday.  Great Service

I fail to understand why I had to register online and why I couldn't pay my copay at the end of appointment. The nurse and doctor were kind and efficient. I still have after covid cough. Why weren't steroids prescribed?

Today when I decided to go to Ascension Urgent Care, I was feeling weak and had not eaten much due to stomach issues the previous day. I was told there was a 2 hour wait and after downloading the Solv App, it appeared there were 8 people in front of me. 4 hours later I was seen. During that time I checked Solv multiple times and it was inaccurate. At one time there were 3 in front of me (after 3 hours waiting), then it jumped to 5 in front of me 20 minutes later.  That being said, the clinical staff were very caring and supportive. They wording their best and were professional despite the extreme wait times and number of patients. The front desk person was polite and professional although not friendly. I would recommend this provider, only with an appointment scheduled.

Wait time is to be expected this time of year but I still think they did great at getting people seen in order of their appointment times. This is the best urgent care I’ve been to. They listened to everything I had to say and took time with me I didn’t feel like we were rushed at all or anything. I 100% recommend this provider and anyone in that office. I am hoping to be feeling better soon and appreciate them seeing me on New Year’s Eve.

One of the better experiences I have had at urgent care. My wait was about an hour to get into triage. I was swabbed for three tests that I was told would take 10 minutes. Although it did take another 45-60 minutes for the doctor to deliver the results, I overheard that the staff was overworked, overbooked, and exhausted. They apparently had a very large influx of patients, and as a commercial service worker I understand. Everyone was friendly and thorough, and I believe they did the best they could. They are only human, and they are very nice humans indeed. I had Dr. Bradley Collins. I didn’t catch the receptionist’s name, but she was straightforward and helpful.

When checking in, I had to use the pad, which they already had all my information. Too much to go through when it should be the front desk person that should be going through that. Never have to be going through this.Waiting time was terrible. Waited in waiting for sometime. And then when finally in the room I waited for sometime. I was only there for a follow up for my blood pressure. The staff was caring.

I was able to choose a Quest lab location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to blood or body fluids of an infected person, shared needles, or had unprotected sex with an infected person should get tested for hepatitis. This includes individuals who have multiple sexual partners, men who have sex with men, and those who have a history of other sexually transmitted diseases. Additionally, healthcare workers, those with chronic liver disease, and individuals born to a hepatitis-infected mother should also consider getting tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial for early detection and treatment. Hepatitis, if left untreated, can lead to serious health complications, including liver damage, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. It can also be unknowingly spread to others. According to the CDC, many people with hepatitis do not know they are infected, emphasizing the importance of regular testing, especially for those in high-risk groups.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those with limited resources, free STD testing and community health centers provide accessible healthcare services. While these centers may not offer the same convenience as urgent care clinics or primary care providers, they are a vital resource for many in the community.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for hepatitis are also available. These kits provide privacy and convenience, but it's important to ensure they are FDA-approved for accuracy. If you choose at-home testing, follow-up with a healthcare provider to discuss your results and next steps.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Springfield

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Springfield

Risk factors for hepatitis in Springfield mirror those at the national level. These include unprotected sex, sharing needles, exposure to infected blood or body fluids, and having other STDs. It's important to understand these risk factors and take appropriate precautions to reduce the risk of infection.
