Upon walking up this morning, I was experiencing some difficulty with urination. I suspected it was a UTI. I didn’t make an appointment but was able to walk into Urgent Care and be seen in 20 minutes. Dr. Brian Gaspar confirmed it was a UTI, wrote a script for an antibiotic, and I was out the door in 30 minutes. Front desk staff were warm and welcoming, and the check in process was super quick and easy. Nurse Mikayla made me feel comfortable and at ease with her great bedside manner. Would highly recommend this facility!

The check in computer machines were too complicated for Senior Citizens and individuals who are not computer savvy.  We had to use several check in machines to check in. The receptionist had to use two machines before she could check us in. Staff was very nice.

Smashed my finger under a Kitchen Aid mixer. It immediately swelled, bruised and was extremely painful. Thought I broke it. Waited for 2.5 hours before being seen due to staff shortages that day. Other than waiting, people are always nice and friendly when I utilize the facility.

Getting Tested for STDs in Somerset, NJ

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider regular STD testing as part of their overall health routine. This is particularly important for those who have multiple sexual partners, are under the age of 25, or are men who have sex with men, according to the CDC. In Somerset, NJ, it's important to stay proactive about your sexual health, given the prevalence of STDs in the area.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, many STDs are asymptomatic, meaning they present no symptoms. Without testing, you may unknowingly spread the disease to others. Secondly, early detection allows for more effective treatment, reducing the risk of severe health complications. Lastly, knowing your STD status can help you make informed decisions about your sexual health.

Prevalence of STDs in Somerset

These trends underscore the importance of regular STD testing for sexually active individuals in Somerset.

Risk factors related to STDs in Somerset

Additionally, social determinants such as poverty, lack of access to healthcare, and stigma around sexual health can also contribute to higher STD rates. It's important for residents of Somerset and nearby cities like Hillsborough, Raritan, Manville, Somerville, and Belle Mead to understand these risk factors and take proactive steps towards their sexual health.
