I had my annual physical this morning.  It’s not something I look forward to but I have to say Sarah Phillips and her team were professional, knowledgeable, and friendly.  I left the clinic feeling that they had delivered an excellent heathcare experience.

Very easy to schedule appt for a same day. Was surprised by the fact that they are paperless and in order to view anything you have to download their app. It’s been 2 days and still no results, as for the medication you have to go on the appt and send it your self to the pharmacy otherwise you will not get it. Overall it was a good visit but it could have improved on some things for sure.

I was very surprised with my experience here. My appointment was made very quickly. I was seen in a very short period of time. My test results came back in a very timely manner. I was able to speak with a doctor soon after and was taking care of. I was very satisfied with the experience I had here. I definitely recommend using them for any issues you have or any questions you may have.

I was able to choose a Quest lab location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

I had made an appointment during my lunch break to get covid tested at the UW facility but when I arrived there was a very long line of cars and no separation for drive up versus appointment line. I had to turn around before testing in order to not be late for work. I decided to return back after I got off work at 5:30 as the facility was open until 6:30 according to the online hours. When I arrived again the facility had closed early due to high volume. I found this extremely inconvenient as I had to get covid tested for a time sensitive work requirement. I returned the next morning at 7:30 am when they opened and was finally able to get in line to get tested. If there are options to make an appointment online there should be a separate entry line so that those who have scheduled appointments don’t have to wait, otherwise I don’t see a point in making appointments.

I was confused by the arrival and check in process. I didn’t understand that it was an outdoor process until I arrived, and while signage was present at the start of the lines, it didn’t give instructions - it simply identified one line as testing and one line as vaccination. I sat in my car until my appointment time and basically just walked into the testing line and hoped that was what I was supposed to do. I’m not sure why an appointment time was required, as it seemed I could’ve walked into the line at any point, with or without an appointment. That said, the staff and volunteers were incredibly kind and obviously were enjoying serving the community, despite the obvious risk and what I’m sure is a monotonous process. In particular, Capt. Berry from the fire dept. and Kim in testing were fantastic! Ultimately it was a great experience despite the initial confusion. Thank you all for serving our community in this incredible way!

In a nut shell, easy-schmesy! Staff (all 3 that we interacted with) were great. I do have a suggestion - an additional sign on the road driving in. On the Seattle "Register for Covid testing - No symptoms", it has this address "*** Walla Walla Road" and "Located in the E1 parking lot". At another address spot (I think on Solv notice sent me?) it had "*** NE Clark Rd". I inputted Clark Rd address in Google, and ended up at a small grey building (driving range office?) thinking "This doesn't look right" There were no other cars around to lead me in the right direction. I assumed it was the testing facility, and I think a pic of that building came up on Google maps. It was a little confusing for my wife and I for a minute. My suggestion is to put a sign there (something like "Covid Testing - continue straight ahead") with an arrow, would be helpful.

My experience at the testing facility was great, I was able to get in and out quickly, I felt safe being in my car and outside. Everyone was quick and courteous. I do want to provide feedback on the website. From my phone when I went to the site I was put straight into the information and times available page. It showed no appointments available the day of. When my husband went in the exact same way on his phone he was given the option of if showing symptoms or if not and could select a same day appointment. Because I was not given the option of if I was showing symptoms (I am) I was not able to select a same-day appointment. It was really frustrating and stressful because obviously if you think you have covid-19 get tested right away so you know what's going on.

I’ve been tested once before (SODO) shortly after the pandemic hit, and staff at that testing site also were excellent, but my experience today was exceptional; the woman who initially greeted me/took my information was kind and friendly, the woman who verified my information and gave me my vial was also kind and friendly, and the individual who physically tested me - his name is Michael - not only greeted me with kindness and consideration for the anxiety of being tested, he also thoroughly explained how my brain would react to the swab and gave me detailed instructions on how to remain calm so the fight or flight instinct wouldn’t be triggered. I followed his instructions and the swabbing was significantly less painful than my first experience. I actually left smiling! I have nothing but the deepest respect and gratitude for everyone working at both testing sites.

I drove up to the test site and there were a couple of folks there who directed me to park in the correct lane. I wasn’t parked for too long before moving forward and confirming my appointment and identity. They already had my insurance information so I didn’t need to pull out my card. The man at check-in was extremely kind and personable. He handed me a test tube and had me confirm that my name and birthday were printed correctly and they were! With the test tube I drove forward and the lady who was going to swab me greeted me. I handed her the test tube and she asked me if I’d been tested before and I said no, asked if I was nervous and I said kind of, since I’d heard different things about how the test feels. She explained to me what the process was for swabbing and asked me to pull my mask over my mouth and breathe through my mouth and proceeded with the swab. The feeling was definitely unpleasant, like needing to sneeze and having a flimsy chopstick put up your nose until it reaches the back of your throat. She did this for both nostrils and the swab was complete! We both laughed about how odd the sensation is and how it’s hard to verbalize how it feels. I told her to put my tally under the “weird” category. We wished each other a good day and I was on my way! All in all a very professional and pleasant experience.

Always an efficient place to get tested. This was my second or third time going and the staff have always been friendly and nice. One change would be to make clear signs of where people can walk to do their walk-in testing. It wasn't very clear since the site has changed since the last time I went, but a nice staff member helped me out. Another thing, this always seems to happen to me but if staff could just double check birthdays on the vials. My birth month and day can be confusing at times, I admit (ex: 01/10 can get easily switched to 01/01). Every time I come here though my birthday is always wrong. Not sure if staff will get in trouble for wrong information written, as far as a birth dates go. Not sure if there have ever been errors with wrong results due to incorrect birthdays either. Staff have it hard already! Anyway, I know this pandemic is tough and every staff and clinic member are working hard even though you may not always be appreciated. I appreciate you all! I know it gets busy so birthdates may not even be a priority but thank you for everything! Thank you for all your effort and time.

I have been coming here weekly for months now since my fiancé is a frontline worker. Everything is always great but today was not! The woman who did my test didn’t know how to insert the swab. Again, I have been here so many times and know how this should feel and be done. She made my nose bleed and was stabbing the top of my nose over and over. She barely went into the nostril. The point of this test is to go deep and get a good result. There’s no way I’ll have a good sample given how poorly she did this. After I said a few times you’re stabbing the top of my nose and not going deep, she told me she was right and people bleed all the time (this isn’t true). The experience is never pleasant but today it was clear the person who took my test was careless and that sucks because I’m simply coming for a weekly test to ensure my fiancé doesn’t infect me or others while he is in the frontline.

I was able to make an appointment to get a Covid test in 45 minutes. Arrived early, I only waited about 5 minutes in line. The staff was cordial, especially the person administering the test who expressed concern that I was comfortable with her timing. It all appeared to run efficiently, including the vaccine lines. I did however wonder what it would be like waiting in the line area with open sides in bad weather. I was there on a beautiful day, but the west breeze was blowing material from the cattails, just on the other side of the fence, through the waiting line area & aggravating people’s allergies. The written information I received did not indicate a timeframe to check my test results. I just checked the website & was surprised to see that I had test results just 15 hours after my test!

It was okay. I was annoyed that I had to wait in a long line stretched out and along Aurora. I thought that having an appointment would give me priority. My instructions were to check in at 8:50am at the Front Desk. That was not possible, there is no front desk. I had to get in line with everyone else. It went okay when the facility opened at 9:00am. There were many personnel on hand, things were very well organized. I think I was done about 9:20am. So "overall" it was a good "experience." In the future I would get in line for any test early in the morning, at least fifteen minutes before the opening. The only advantage to an appointment at this site is that you will be filling out all the required information prior to arriving at the site. But having done that, it appears to me that you could then "show up" at any time! The wait time was okay, maybe 20 minutes. My appointment was booked on-line. The was no cost, just as expected. This testing site appears to work for everyone.

The UW Covid testing walk-up in Ballard is the best!! Scheduling was easy, swabbing was even easier. We were done and in the car back home in 5 minutes. Results came in 22 hours!!! Now THAT is an efficient machine. Thank you to every person who makes this happen. We’ve visited this site many times and you’ve never let us down. And, it’s free for everyone, so if you’re ever in doubt or worried you might have COVID, go get tested here! Lastly, I want to give the *UW virology labs* a special shout-out for all the hard work they’ve been doing, around the clock, for our city. As you guys pipette behind the scenes, soaking and testing endless sticks, you are making a difference for people you will never meet. What you do matters! These results inform every faceless swab on how to keep themselves, their family, friends and community safe. Thank you, on behalf of one faceless swab and her little swablettes too.

I booked 3 appointments for my family. For some reason the appointment for myself didn’t complete it’s booking online. Luckily the man checking us in was absolutely wonderful and helpful. He fixed it and made sure I could still get in for my test I scheduled. The man who handed us our QR code paperwork was very kind and helpful! Lastly, the girl who handed us our swabs and walked us through was actually the nicest one I’ve had yet. Normally with all the other companies, they seem fed up with people (which is understandable) but this women as extremely nice, and had a really great attitude. Everyone in my family actually commented on how nice and easy the whole process was when we left. Even if it’s just a Covid test, it’s really nice to know people take their jobs seriously and gave great bedside manner. Especially because a lot of people going through the line are sick and not feeling too happy. We appreciate companies who pride themselves in good bedside manner. I’ll definitely only use this place from now on!

Fast, credible (due to UW affiliation) & friendly. Ideally I'll receive my tests results the same today too, because they are so consequential. My son just tested positive & was with our family for Thanksgiving week so we're all on pins & needles now waiting for test results from each family member. We're all fully vaxxed, most have boosters and we all feel fine, so I think we'll be okay. Still, the only change I would request is receiving same day results but I know that's probably not realistic & I'm definitely not complaining. We're verrrry lucky to live in the same city as UW main campus & medical center for a multitude of reasons. (heart emoji!) Oh yes, thanks for being on super groovy Ballard Avenue too! It's much more fun than the emissions testing place on Aurora, but we're grateful for all testing places in Seattle! With Love, Pam Ballard PS. If you use the above text, please use my first name only. Thanks. PPS. I don't know what it cost. I thought these tests are supposed to be free? I did give my insurance card but haven't seen my medical statement yet. If I am charged, I hope it's very low cost.

Getting a covid test isn’t how I want to spend my average day, but I have to say this was a wonderful experience! There’s an energy of positivity and hope there; you can tell that everyone is excited to be doing important work and helping with this virus. Each person I spoke with was knowledgeable and had a great attitude. My biggest recommendation to anyone coming in is to make an appointment if you can, but don’t stress about the time you get there that day. The appointment really just saves you paperwork/time while you’re there so that you can move in and out a quickly as possible. Granted, I went midday on a Tuesday, but there was essentially no wait and I was able to complete the visit in just a few minutes. I got my results back in under 24 hours too! Thank you to the staff here for being so wonderful!!

Completely flawless. Could not have asked for better! I drove right in, zero wait. I make an appt, and as soon as I got there they confirmed who I was, and since I had used the Solv. System and uploaded all of my medical info, and was able to best sent right on through. Getting the swab today was the best, most comfortable, caring, gentle experience than I have had yet! I have had multiples of tests, and Jakob/Jacob(?) gave me the most compassionate, comforting, gentle experience. I have to really give him kudos. I wasn’t worried about it at all but he still had such awesome patient care and didn’t act robotic; as if I were just another number driving through for a test. Jakob was energetic, (though probably chilly being in the shade, and surely bored out of his mind), he smiled, and was upbeat and happy to help. He genuinely made my day better! Being pleasant, visibly compassionate and showing such great patient care brought me a smile, and made me want to have any of my loved ones taken care of by Jakob. I am currently an EMT (which wasn’t disclosed at all), and I work with FD’s all over- this was a very pleasant experience and I would love to work with a department that provides such phenomenal patient care. Thank you SFD and I truly hope that this message is passed on to Jakob.

As a person who is highly anxious of being poked and prodded by a doctor or dentist, I believe that I couldn’t have had a better experience than the one I had when I went in for a nasal swab at 1:40pm on Tuesday, February 16th at the Aurora Avenue test site. The greeter/intake gal, Tyler, was very friendly and kind and addressed my anxiety when I told her it was my first Covid test and that I was really scared. She assured me that it was quick and not any more uncomfortable that when you mix your wasabi/soy a little too strong at the sushi restaurant. Then, thanks be to God, the administrator of the test, Matt, was extremely patient with me (I am grateful that I thought to go at a not busy time so that I didn’t feel extra anxiety thinking I was holding up the queue). He described what would happen, how long it would take, and told me it would be okay. This helped me stop being jittery and relax enough to give it a try. I got really scared with the first attempt and how it felt, and Matt immediately yet gently removed the swab so that I could take a break. I asked him if it was going to go in further than that and he said “Oh yes” and I immediately started crying, hard. (This would be my only request of him the next time I perhaps have to see him: to intonate causally the ‘yes’ in order to help to minimize anxious patients’ fears going into a second attempt. Other than that little Matt let me take the time I needed (45+ seconds I’d imagine) to collect myself to try again, and suggested I step back to lean on the wall to support myself and be able to relax more. That helped enough to perform the swabs (1 in each nostril), along with his verbal comforting while doing the swab, and it helped me A LOT (I emphasize this) that he counted down the last 4 seconds. I cried again afterwards out of shame for falling apart (I am nearly 40 years old), and Matt told me I did a great job and allowed an elbow bump, though I wish I could’ve given him a hug. Thank you Matt. And Tyler! Heather the midday, middle-aged five year old.

Fantastic set up, though the right turn only entrance is confusing if you come in from the wrong side. It was good to have an officer or traffic personnel near the entrance to explain to me that I needed to turn around. It’s a wide and busy road otherwise and it would have been harder to figure out without her help! Once in, one attendant waved me into a lane and asked for my phone number. I had assumed to stay masked and keep my window rolled up unless told otherwise, so these conditions made it hard to communicate my phone number to him. I tried to show my license in the window instead to give him a name instead. He seemed unsure of that to do And he didn’t give better instruction… so he then waved me through to back me out of that line and go into the other line without explanation. It was confusing. But I listened and the attendant for the new line was much more clear about what to do. Otherwise the test administrators were fabulous and friendly. I was in and out super fast. Will come back when needed.

Thank you SODO, what happened, UW? I live minutes away from UW, and have been to that testing site in the past. Had a great experience there so made a reservation yesterday for an 11:30 appointment today. I arrived to a long line as just one tent was open for drive through testing. I also saw some walk ups queued. I understand being short staffed and don’t blame the brave folks working, but I would have appreciated some communication regarding a 90 minute wait for my scheduled service. I could have instead made an appointment at the SODO location and just driven there. Again, my past experiences at UW were great, so let’s hope they increase staffing since the Delta variant seems to be spreading and normalcy fades. SODO was a great experience, just inconvenient, especially given my pounding headache and nausea. The folks there made me an appointment since they were unable to pull my info from the UW queue, another confusing moment, not the staff’s fault, but perhaps a fault in the scheduling system. Those folks were friendly and the woman who helped me swab was positively delightful. Super organized group and hustled to move our cars from line to line for efficiency.

I showee up half an hour before my apt and found the testing site efficiently run, the staff in control, and the procedure easy to understand and undergo. I had a tall man with a white skull cap on, Mike H was maybe his name, and he provided an excellent description on what I was to expect, he was comforting and quick, my test was painless! He described it as feeling like too much wasabi, and I think that is the most accurate account I've heard. I was sad to hear this facility will no longer be in operation and all testing will be moved to UW, as this location works so well for us South Seattle folks, and I highly discourage the closure of this testing center, especially as covid continues to be a problem, and traffic in Seattle worse than ever. As borders reopen and travel resumes, there will be continued demand/requirements for testing, and I again, am stressing how vital this sodo testing center is, and how well run and easy it has been to use their services today.

I selected NO to the 1st question because it was not specific. As a proud native I would NEVER recommend LIVING or operating a business in Seattle. Far too Liberal, poor services in all areas, terrible roads, not pro-business (small or global), wacky govt leaders. Example: https://www.npr.org/sections/codeswitch/***/10/12/***/seattle-swaps-columbus-day-for-indigenous-peoples-day BOTH Columbus and Indigenous are worthy of celebration. WHY can’t the leaders BE FAIR by creating a win-win solution, by choosing a different day for Indigenous?? Replacing Columbus Day demonstrates intolerance and disrespect. It disregards a core principle of our country. Instead of following the other states who are as IGNORANT as our City Council - they could have demonstrated to the Nation how not to be divisive. The CIVIL and SOCIALLY JUST solution is to select a DIFFERENT DAY for Indigenous. I’m ashamed of the demise of the city I once cherished. If the question pertains to the TESTING FACILITY that is OPERATED by the city of Seattle, my answer is YES. If you can identify the two staff I had - please tell their supervisor they were OUTSTANDING. Extremely pleasant and professional.

Seattle Lab Tests

Lab tests take samples of your blood, urine, saliva, and other bodily secretions, which are then analyzed in a lab to help doctors diagnose and treat certain illnesses. Lab tests can be used to diagnose an illness, detect changes in an existing condition, and monitor how your body responds to a therapy, among other things. They can also be used to monitor the progression of a disease or a set of diseases.

If your doctor is unable to make a definitive diagnosis of your disease, or if you are having a variety of symptoms that could indicate a variety of disorders, he or she may request a lab test. To see how you're responding to a drug or to check if you're at risk for certain diseases, lab tests may be performed. If your doctor is unable to make a definitive diagnosis of your disease, or if you are having a variety of symptoms that could indicate a variety of disorders, he or she may request a lab test. To see how you're responding to a drug or to check if you're at risk for certain diseases, lab tests may be performed.

Some lab tests require no preparation at all, while others may require you to fast for eight to twelve hours before the test in order to avoid erroneous results from certain meals and beverages. Your healthcare provider may advise you to cease smoking, exercising, and taking certain medications and nutritional supplements for many hours or days before your blood test.

Before your lab test, ask your doctor for precise instructions to follow to minimize erroneous results and multiple trips to the lab for additional testing. A lab worker may use a needle to draw blood from your arm or prick your finger to collect a small sample of blood during a blood test. During a urine test, your physician will ask you to go to the restroom and urinate in a sterile cup, then set your sample on a shelf where a lab technician can pick it up and process it. The personnel at the lab testing facility will demonstrate how to do each type of test.

Some lab test providers let you see your results as soon as they're available online, while others need you to wait for your doctor's answer. Your doctor or the lab provider can give you a more accurate estimate of when your lab test results will arrive.

  • What is a routine lab test?

A basic lab test may evaluate your red and white blood cell counts to discover if you have anemia, a blood infection, or blood cancer. Your healthcare provider will be able to explain what a typical lab test entails.

  • What STDs can be detected by a blood test?

A blood test can identify STDs such as syphilis, HIV, hepatitis C, and herpes. Your doctor may order that blood be collected and submitted to a lab, or that you undergo STD testing at a lab test provider. STD test results might arrive in minutes, days, or weeks, depending on the lab test company you work with.

  • Do I need to see a doctor before getting a lab test?
