Overall an amazing experience!! I was taken care of in a matter of a few minutes. Also the nurse practitioner, Brittany, well she was nothing short of amazing. She took the time to ensure that I was being treated properly.

It is not my regular doctor's office. But they recommended these folks from my DOT physical. The staff was fantastic, and very professional. I usually do not like doctors offices, but I was very comfortable here. And the doctor that saw me had a fantastic sense of humor, that made the visit even more pleasurable. I definitely recommend this place for anybody who needs to see a doctor, and I would definitely visit here again.

Blood pressure was to high to pass DOT physical. I am going to see PCP to get b/p under control. I retired 8-8-20 I did not really need a DOT physical anyway. Can I get refund on payment. Thanks Jerry Deering ***

I came in on 1/15/20 for a DOT Physical, the staff was extremely helpful and courteous. This is my third time at this particular clinic, and each time I am impressed with the care I receive. My wife also comes here for all her medical care.

Everyone was super friendly and I felt like I knew everyone for years. They were really sweet and easy going. Just had a DOT physical. They were on it and I told them about how professional they were and have referred several people since today. 👍

When I entered the front doors the staff instructed me on how to check in from a safe distance and everything else was very easy to understand and self-explanatory. I then sat in the waiting room and before I knew it, they called me to the back and everything went very quickly, quicker than I thought it would. I was very pleased. The whole process worked very quickly and very professionally. It was a much more pleasant experience than the last clinic that our company used for DOT physicals.

Everyone one from the ladies at front desk to the doc and all in between are awesome. The wait time for just a DOT physical, well that sux. But I understand with all going on with Covid. I will always return there.

Received a DOT physical! Staff and experience were great.....only concern was it’s the Covid pandemic! I should have not been made to wait 1 1/2 hours for a physical! I would assume if there was a pandemic your goal would be to get the healthy out in a timely fashion and not wait and exposure to the virus!

Had a DOT physical. Price was cheaper than anywhere else I called and I was able to walk in without an appointment. I didn’t have to wait long at all to be seen. Everyone was super nice. I will come here for medical services from now on.

As a bus driver I get a DOT physical every year and have been to many different locations to do so. This was my first time going to the McKinney PrimaCare and I can definitely say that this staff at this location is far and above the very best I’ve ever been to. Every person I interacted with was welcoming, warm, and friendly. This is especially important for me because I am terrified to go to the doctor and not much terrifies me ;-) I will use this location again. Can’t say enough about this competent and caring staff!!!!!!

Place was busy but staff remained friendly. I was there for a DOT physical, and recommend that during the hearing portion of the test to perform the test in a room with no background music coming from speakers in the ceiling,

I can not express enough how my treatment was today. I showed up to get my DOT physical exam. I was greeted with a pleasant smile and a detailed description of the paperwork I had to fill out. I had a request to use the restroom early for the urinalysis test because of water intake and driving time.. I was immediately granted permission. This was an awesome experience with smiles and a few laughs the staff is wonderful. And Advanced practice nurse RAGONE was absolutely a pleasant treat to go through this . She makes you feel completely comfortable and is very thorough with the medical questions. I felt so at ease and will definitely be coming back because of her in the future to renew my DOT card. Thank you all for your great service and all you've done through this madness. With all my respect RM. 1-16-21

My expierence today was excellent. It was my first dot physical and I was having trouble getting my bp down to pass. There was a red headed nurse that took the time to make me comfortable enough and relaxed enough to achieve an acceptable number . Forgive me for not knowing her name, but she brought me a bottle of water and allowed me to occupy a room long enough for her to get a manual measurement that was acceptable. She made the difference today! Thank you

I had to get my DOT Physical. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the friendly lady up front that helped me complete my paperwork. My wait was minimal. Everyone in the back was also very friendly and professional. I told my supervisor at work and he is going to start sending everyone there. What a Great experience and I will definitely recommend. Thank You, Tim @ Blossman Gas!

The front desk lady was very welcoming and informative about the wait time and tried her best to see me in this busy time. The nurse and doctor were amazing i didn't feel rushed whatsoever and took the time with me for my dot physical. i will always come to Hixson office for all my urgent services. You guys are the best! Thank you for all you do!

Fastest turnaround time for getting a DOT physical in quite a while. Staff was friendly but a mix up with my company required me to pay them and get reimbursed later, and didn’t need to fill out all the paperwork given at sign-in. They don’t need my SSN.

I was very happy with the way I was treated from the time I arrived until I left. I received professional care and courtesy. I would recommend Franklin Park urgent Care to anyone in need of medical attention or a DOT physical. Thank you! Walter H.

Best place in town for physicals. Brought my daughter for a sports physical which cost the same as w/our copay but without the week’s wat for the pediatrician- and my partner got his DOT physical here last week and it was less than what his insurance charges. Staff are friendly and efficient. I’ll be taking my kids here for physicals every year.

Great experience getting my DOT physical. I just wish the other Immediate care centers would have sent me to the occupational one first off instead of guessing which clinic had a DOT doctor. A bit of wasted time making appointments at the wrong clinic.

A DOT physical exam is a thorough examination of your current health to ensure that you are fit to drive a commercial vehicle safely (CMV). Professional DOT physicals can help you and other drivers stay safe while on the road. To operate a commercial motor vehicle safely, everyone with a commercial driver's license (CDL) must meet certain health standards, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). A specially certified medical examiner must undertake this DOT physical, often known as a CDL physical or CDL exam.

Specific areas of your health will be assessed during a DOT physical to ensure that you can safely and successfully operate a motor vehicle. The DOT health evaluation comprises the following, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP):

  • A physical examination will be performed, which will include a test of your gripping ability, cognitive state, and mobility. A DOT examiner will confirm that you have a prosthetic device that meets federal regulations if you have an amputation.
  • A review of your medical history, including whether you have insulin-dependent diabetes, heart problems, breathing problems, high blood pressure, epilepsy, rheumatic conditions, arthritis, orthopedic conditions that can impair your ability to drive, or psychiatric conditions.
  • With or without corrective lenses, a vision test to ensure that you are inside a specific, predetermined range for visual acuity, color perception, and peripheral vision.
  • A hearing test, with or without a hearing equipment, to ensure that you can hear particular decibel levels within a certain range.
  • A urine test to see how well your kidneys are working. Your urine may also be tested for drugs, depending on your exam and medical history.
  • A medical examination to determine whether or not you are abusing alcohol.

Unless a condition is found on the exam that requires recertification sooner, your DOT certification is normally valid for 24 months after you earn it. If you fail the exam due to a medical condition, you may be allowed to ask for an exemption, according to the FMCSA. A second opinion may also be available to you.

  • What is a DOT physical?

According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), a DOT physical is a medical examination that helps make sure you are medically safe to operate a certified motor vehicle. Because certified motor vehicles generally are larger and more difficult to operate than passenger cars, their professional drivers are held to higher standards to keep everyone on the road as safe as possible.

  • How long is a DOT physical good for?

According to the FMCSA, DOT physicals are typically valid for 24 months. However, if a condition has been identified on your last exam that requires an earlier re-examination time, you may need to be reassessed sooner. For example, according to the AAFP, people who take blood pressure medication must be recertified annually to maintain their standing with the DOT.

  • What can disqualify you from a DOT physical?

According to the FMCSA, the following conditions can disqualify you from a DOT physical: hearing loss, vision loss, epilepsy (seizure disorder), or insulin use. Some prescription medications may also be disqualifying, especially if they are sedating or habit-forming, according to the FMCSA.

  • What happens if you fail DOT physical?

If you fail a DOT physical because of a certain medical condition, you can apply for a medical waiver or an exemption, according to the FMCSA. This may be granted if you can prove that you can still operate a motor vehicle safely, despite the condition. You are also allowed to get a second opinion, according to the eCFR (Code of Federal Regulations).

  • Does a DOT physical check for drugs?

No, the typical DOT physical does not test for drugs. However, professional drivers are subject to random drug and alcohol testing, according to the FMCSA. Also, if your DOT physical is part of a pre-employment process, then your urine will likely be checked for drugs, according to the Code of Federal Regulations.
