Clean facility, minimum wait time, GREAT Staff (CeeCee, Jose, NP Michelle) all professional, respectful, and knowledgeable of their respective positions. They listened, heard, and treated me. Greatly appreciative of these quality healthcare professionals. Would recommend Access Total Care to fam and friends.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. What was annoying was the wait time. I had a 4:30pm appt and wasn’t seen until 6pm. That isn’t ok especially since I made an appt.

The wait takes a little while but honestly that’s to be expected when you’re at any hospital or clinic. Everyone is very kind and accommodating. Always a very clean clinic. Only thing I would recommend is to turn the tv down in the lobby. When you’re ill and or having a headache all day the last thing you want to hear is the tv blaring. Thanks bunches ladies

These folks got it all down!! Will never make the mistake and go to a different urgent care closer to me. Scheduled less than 1 hour before arriving at end of day like possibly the last patients and they took excellent care of my daughter. So quickly and testing completed rapidly . The provider was very kind and understanding. She met our needs and meds were given there . Pharmacy got the order we picked up before 9pm. The staff was all amazing !! Thank you for your service ❤️. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

I started having sciatic pain two days ago.  I woke up and could barely walk.  The pain goes all the way down to the front of my foot.  I went in and only waited about 10 mins.  Check in was good. Got called to the back and they ended up giving me a steroid shot and a rx for ibuprofen.  However ecen after the shot the pain never went away. The dr then called in a muscle relaxer to th pharmacy. .  I took my ibuprofen and it went down some but then at night it got really bad again.  Took the telaxer and was able to sleep some but then woke up about 4 in pain again. Think i may need yo go back in or yo the er now.

My son woke up very fatigued and running a fever. I had to take my MIL to an appointment out of town so dad stayed home. Son rested all day but still wasn’t feeling great when I got home so I decided to have him seen. Our normal medical provider didn’t have appointments (via the app) until February so that wasn’t going to work. Brought him to Little Spurs via an appointment I made online. We walked in right at our appointment time and I was flustered as I didn’t want to be late. We waited a while before I received the link to pay. When we finally went back we waited again for a while for the provider to come in but my son was getting antsy wanting to leave. She said everything looked okay at that it was a virus. Okay great, except I wanted him checked for flu and Covid as we have an immunocompromised family member. We waited again for them to come in with the test. Then waited another  20 minutes for the results. Both were negative thankfully. I always appreciate this clinic as it is open late and very helpful with little kids. This is however the second time we have seen this provider and I’m not really impressed. I will reconsider if it’s worth the additional expense next time.

My blood draw was great. Even when I was about to pass out the phlebotomist didn't freak out and remained calm. She knew what to do and how to help. She was awesome!!!!

Jill was amazing. Compunet was at new location, GPS messed up and took me into a neighborhood. While I frantically called worried about appointment time, Jill stayed on phone and navigated me to location. Check in process was faster and she is even great with blood work. She was exceptional and overall employee like Jill is an asset to have.

For the Covid test, ladies was very nice, being my first time for test, she was very calming, explained very thing that she would be doing prior to the test For the blood draw, very warm and friendly. Took very little time. For ekg, again very nice, friendly and did not waste time. Facility, the Atrium Hospital, very clean. Overall, great experience, would not hesitate or question if I were asked to do this again. Thank you for such a pleasant and easy process. I would highly recommend this facility. Hardly no wait time. This was ordered by Dr.Kadakia, pre op. Don't know charge. Insurance.

We were the only 2 in the waiting room. My 87 year old father and I both had to get blood drawn. My dad's name was called first. Dad walks with a walking stick. I walked dad to the room to make sure he was ok, help him take off his coat and seat him in the chair. The employee kept telling me to stay in the waiting room. I would be called soon. I told her we're together. She said the other person is getting my room ready now. I told her "ok". I continued to walk dad to the room. The employee kept telling me I would be called soon. I told her we're together. The other employee came into dad's room and asked if I was ready. I told her just as soon as I get dad situated. This was the first time someone tried to separate me from my dad. It was apparent that he needed assistance.

Xavier was the best phlebotomist ever. I am considered to be a hard stick and she looked at both arms and got blood from only 1 try. Her knowledge, confidence and compassion made my experience a total success.

I wasn’t feeling so well, so I went to the urgent care and was blown away by the cleanliness, friendly staff, and fast and sufficient services. The wait time was super fast. They took urine and blood and I was out in no time! The best medical service I’ve ever received.

Brenda and Xavier are able to draw blood from my 97 year old Mother. They are amazingly professional and compassionate. I always ask for one of them.

The 2 women who took care of me were fantastic. Did feel the needle go in for bloodwork. And I am terrified of needles. This is the only place my husband and I come for bloodwork because how gentle and friendly everyone is here.

Jessica did a great job! I am hard to draw blood and she got it. She was patient and knew what to do. I didn’t not have same experience a couple weeks ago at a different lab. Jessica is the best!

I visited the facility for blood work. The experience was painless all around. The staff (both of them) were very friendly as well as professional. There were three people ahead of me and my wait was less than 10 minutes. This was my first visit to this facility and I will definitely come here every time I need blood work in the future. Thank for a great experience!

Quick and easy! I also like that you're in a room with no other patients for your blood draw. My phlebotomist was awesome

I am horrible with needles and Toni and Kim did an amazing job to keep me calm and get the blood drawn! Thanks again ladies!

A little busy; wait longer than expected. Didn't get much feedback on my vitals except that blood pressure is good. Does that mean everything else is bad?

- Verified patient on 8/10

Friendly and efficient staff. I usually have difficulty getting blood drawn as it is difficult to find a good vein. The phlebotomist found a vein on the first try and I didn't feel a thing.

I came in for a blood draw this morning. Chrissy was very welcoming, very professional, and did the draw without any problems. The outer receptionist staggered were very friendly and helpful.

About Blood Tests

Blood tests are used as valuable snapshots of your current overall health and can be an effective way of catching illness or disease early, or measuring how you are reacting to new or on-going treatment. There are a variety of types of blood work with most common tests being complete blood counts (CBC), complete and basic metabolic panels (CMP, BMP), thyroid panels, nutrient tests, and sexually transmitted disease (STD) tests.

Each of these blood tests are fairly common and can be performed in a variety of settings including testing labs, primary care offices, urgent care centers, and even retail clinics and some pharmacies. Solv even has clinic partners in the Windcrest-area that offer online scheduling, allowing you to book a visit convenient to your schedule and skip the wait. The tests themselves take only a few minutes and usually are performed by a nurse or technician where they:

  1. Clean the area where they will draw blood from, usually your upper arm
  2. Tie a band to your upper arm to make your veins more visible
  3. Put a needle gently into a vein to draw blood into the attached tube
  4. Remove the needle, then the band from the vein when complete
  5. Cover the draw site with a bandage

Risks associated with blood work are very low, but could possibly include slight pain or discomfort at the draw site, dizziness or even fainting from blood loss, or vein puncture. It’s important to discuss any concerns you may have with your medical provider before the procedure begins.

  • Who should get a blood test?

Blood tests provide a valuable look at your overall health and blood work should be done at least once a year. They offer a great way to catch illness or disease early on, or see how you are progressing with on-going treatment. Your doctor or healthcare provider typically orders blood tests for you during an annual physical or as necessary for a specific diagnosis. It’s possible to order your own blood tests without a doctor, particularly for things like STD tests or hemoglobin A1c tests.

  • Are video visits available for blood work in Windcrest?

While a blood test cannot be performed over video, your doctor can both initially prescribe blood tests using telemedicine, and review results with you virtually.

  • How much does a blood test cost in Windcrest?

Without insurance, blood work typically costs between $50 to $1,000, or sometimes more depending on the specific tests and the provider type you are having the tests performed at. At-home tests are available in most areas and could cost substantially less. Book a consultation with a lab testing provider in Windcrest today to get more details on the specific blood work you are looking for.

  • How long do blood tests take?

Blood tests can be performed either in-office or performed on samples that are sent to an outside lab. The collection itself should only take a few minutes, and the results could be ready within a few hours or up to one to two weeks depending on the test you are getting done. Once you’ve received your results, your doctor can discuss them with you either in-person, on the phone, or through a video visit.

  • Is blood work covered by my insurance?

Most common blood tests are covered under insurance plans, particularly when your doctor orders them as part of an annual physical or supporting a diagnosis. If you are self prescribing the test, however, it may not be covered by insurance. If you have questions about your specific insurance coverage, it is best to contact your carrier or your provider.
