OK really wanted to put 4 stars... but I felt the need to counter balance the 1 star review bc they mention the care over a decade declining so to me that means at one point it was more than a few stars... OK so here's the thing: Dr. Abusuwa is available #1. Yes, you can end up with the PA etc. BUT if you want DR. A, you simply state that when making the WEEKDAY appointment. Dr. A is NOT for those who want the more hardcore meds, he pretty well will not prescribe things that are dangerously addictive (with emergency exceptions for short term). With the opiod and benzo epidemics here (and everywhere) this is actually a good thing. Dr. A I've been going to for well over 12 years and he has gone out of his way many times for me. He's handled my: regular colds, allergies, auto accident needs, referral appointments made for me, pain management (without addiction issues), in house PT, gyno stuff, BiPolar, anxiety, and most recently: weight loss! From 09/10/2020 to today 12/28/2020 with his (and his APRN GEORGETTE KHOURY in particular) I am down 44.6 pounds!!!!! Do I think they are the most ideal in every capacity? No. But, overall... the convenience... the concern for LONG TERM health (versus oh here take a pill feel no pain... and worry about the side effects later) .. and the genuine care they show me I'm very happy. The turnover is for a few reasons... started with the office manager having to step back to take care of her family due to an emergency a few years back... and now from what I've overheard and kind of figured out along the way... they tend to train a lot of extended family members who are graduating in various medical fields. So sometimes it feels rude because you get the impression that you are not part of some inside joke if you will... But... it's not a bad thing that they are helping give new medical professionals a start in the family business. Last thing, when my daughter was a minor she had her forehead sliced open above her eye really bad but she (age 15 or so) didn't want to go to the dang hospital... in desperation I drove her the 3 miles to Dr. A... who's staff immediately took her before asking all the questions (payments etc) just grabbed her and Dr. A sutured her up immediately... way faster than the ER would have been... and with damn near plastic surgeon level artistry. It really should have left a huge scar I firmly believe this with all my heart... and it is honestly not even noticeable when you look for it now! It's been about 10 years but within months you just couldn't see it because DR. A is that good at suturing ... I haven't had insurance in years (I will in a few days) but I haven't needed any because Amana Medical Center has an extremely affordable selfpay rate that is pretty much the same as most office visits WITH insurance before your deductible. You don't wait long at all for scheduled appointments, pre-covid I almost always could get a same day appointment... and now the telehealth option is just simply amazing, convenient and even more affordable. Oh, and they set you up with a (free) account with TalkPHR where you can see ALL your file... the notes, the prescriptions, the referrals... every visit every entry every vital sign etc.

About Complete Blood Count (CBC) Testing

A Complete Blood Count (CBC) is a common diagnostic test that provides essential information about the different components of the blood. It evaluates the number and characteristics of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets, helping healthcare providers assess overall health, screen for various medical conditions, and monitor the effectiveness of treatments.

Who Should Get Tested

If you reside in Port St. John, Florida, and want a comprehensive assessment of your blood cells or have specific medical concerns, a Complete Blood Count (CBC) is recommended. Healthcare providers may also order this test as part of routine health check-ups or to evaluate certain symptoms or conditions.

Tests Included in CBC

A Complete Blood Count (CBC) typically includes the following tests:

  • Red Blood Cell (RBC) Count: Measures the number of red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body.
  • Hemoglobin (Hb) and Hematocrit (Hct): Evaluates the amount of hemoglobin and the proportion of red blood cells in the blood.
  • White Blood Cell (WBC) Count: Measures the number of white blood cells, which play a crucial role in the body's immune response.
  • Platelet Count: Assesses the number of platelets, essential for blood clotting and wound healing.
  • Differential White Blood Cell Count: Determines the percentage of different types of white blood cells, aiding in the diagnosis of infections and other conditions.

Interpreting the Results

The interpretation of a Complete Blood Count (CBC) is based on the specific values of each blood component. Abnormal results may indicate various medical conditions, such as anemia, infections, inflammation, or bleeding disorders.

Importance of CBC

A Complete Blood Count (CBC) is important for:

  • Screening for anemia and evaluating overall blood cell health
  • Assessing immune function and detecting infections
  • Evaluating blood clotting ability and platelet function
  • Monitoring the effects of certain medications and treatments

Following the Test

After a Complete Blood Count (CBC), healthcare providers review the results with individuals and offer recommendations based on the findings. If abnormal results are detected, further testing and medical evaluation may be necessary to determine the underlying cause.
