I have been to this facility a few times when I have had to take my child in times when her Pediatrician was away. They have taken care of her and even given me a referral so that I may take her to a specialist to further evaluate her. It's not very far from my home at all. I'm glad they are also available after my child gets out of school, since her pediatrican's last appt. is at 3:30, I have time to go to Metro-UrgiCare and feel reassured.

About Gonorrhea Testing

Who should get tested for gonorrhea?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), anyone who is sexually active can get gonorrhea, but it's particularly common among young people aged 15-24 years. Those with multiple sexual partners or those who don't use a condom consistently should consider getting tested. It's also recommended for all sexually active women under 25, as well as older women with risk factors such as new or multiple sex partners.

Importance of getting tested

Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted infection that can cause serious health problems if left untreated, including infertility in both men and women. It can also increase the risk of getting or transmitting HIV. Testing is the only sure way to know if you have gonorrhea, as many people with the infection don't have any symptoms. Early detection and treatment can prevent these complications and stop the spread of the infection.
