My daughter had an injury to her eye late at night. We tried booking an appt with 3 other 24/hr online immediate cares, but none of them had availability. We then tried Rapid Immediate Care. It worked out, they had the earliest available appt. They were able to check her in, inspect her eye injury, give her pain drop for her eye, and order antibiotic in time for her to make it to summer class and not be late. The staff were decent and friendly, good bedside manner. Seemed relatively knowledgeable. Her eye is now on the mend. I have worked in immediate cares and acute care settings in the past myself. In my opinion, this location is better organized and functioning than most immediate care settings I've been to. It certainly beats waiting 7 hrs in an ER, and the quality of care has been good overall, at least for all the times we've been there in the past (strep covid, sore throats, pains). The only reason I didn't contact them first this time, the drive is further away than other locations.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Those who should consider getting tested for hepatitis include individuals who have been exposed to the virus through contaminated blood or body fluids, those who have had unprotected sex with someone infected with hepatitis, individuals who share needles or other drug paraphernalia, and those who have lived with or cared for someone with hepatitis. It is also recommended for people who have traveled to areas with high rates of hepatitis, such as parts of Asia and Africa. According to the CDC, anyone born between 1945 and 1965 should be tested for Hepatitis C, as this age group is five times more likely to be infected.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it can lead to serious health problems if left untreated, including liver damage, cirrhosis, and even liver cancer. Early detection can lead to treatments that can slow the progression of the disease, greatly improving long-term health outcomes. Furthermore, knowing your hepatitis status can help prevent the spread of the virus to others.

For example, Rapid Immediate Care in Hoffman Estates and Epic Urgent and Family Care in Streamwood both provide testing services and have received high ratings for their short wait times and friendly staff.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another good option for hepatitis testing. Your regular healthcare provider can order the necessary blood tests and interpret the results for you.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often provide free or low-cost hepatitis testing. Midwest Express Clinic in Elmhurst, for instance, offers hepatitis testing among its many services.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for hepatitis are also available. These can be ordered online and used in the privacy of your own home, with results usually available within a few days.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Roselle

This trend mirrors the national data, which shows a rise in hepatitis infections across the country.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Roselle

Risk factors for hepatitis in Roselle are likely similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, sharing needles or other drug paraphernalia, and having close contact with someone who's infected. Additionally, certain populations, such as baby boomers (those born between 1945 and 1965), are at higher risk.

Other STDs in Roselle

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also of concern in Roselle and the surrounding areas. As with hepatitis, testing is crucial for early detection and treatment of these diseases.
