I was able to walk in and get seen almost immediately, everyone was very friendly and I was out within 30 minutes. However, I was told I'd get a prescription sent over to the pharmacy and it seemed to not be sent even after calling to double check after getting to the pharmacy.

Great discreet service, scheduled my visit and paid for for the test online not in Showed up at lab, checked in and was seen within minutes. Blood and urine were collected, test results came back quickly within 2 days because I did my test on a Friday. Quick, easy and cheap. Didn't have to wait for a visit to my PCP, and then get referral to lab.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who is at risk of contracting hepatitis should consider getting tested. This includes individuals who have been exposed to the virus, those who have had unprotected sex with multiple partners, drug users who share needles, and individuals with a family history of hepatitis. According to the CDC, people born between 1945 and 1965, commonly referred to as baby boomers, are also at a higher risk and should get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial because it allows for early detection and treatment, which can prevent serious health complications like liver disease and cancer. According to the CDC, many people with hepatitis do not know they have it until they experience symptoms, which can take years to appear. By getting tested, you can take steps to protect your health and prevent the spread of the virus to others.

Hepatitis testing options in Edina, MN:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care centers and walk-in clinics like AFC Urgent Care in Hopkins, MN, offer hepatitis testing. These facilities typically offer same-day or next-day appointments, which can be booked through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another option for hepatitis testing. They can provide a comprehensive health check and guide you through the testing process. If you don't have a primary care provider, Solv can help you find one in Edina or nearby cities like Richfield or Bloomington.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often offer free or low-cost STD testing, including hepatitis. These centers are a valuable resource for individuals without insurance or those who cannot afford testing.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for hepatitis are also available. These kits allow you to collect a sample at home and send it to a lab for testing. This can be a convenient option for those who prefer privacy or cannot visit a clinic.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Edina

While specific data for Edina is not readily available, data from Hennepin County, where Edina is located, can provide some insight. According to the CDC, the county has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the years, mirroring the national trend. It's important to note that the actual number of cases may be higher, as many people with hepatitis do not know they have it.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Edina

Risk factors for hepatitis in Edina are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex with multiple partners, sharing needles for drug use, and having a family history of the disease. Additionally, individuals born between 1945 and 1965 are at a higher risk.

Other STDs in Edina

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs like gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also prevalent in Edina and surrounding areas. These diseases often share similar risk factors with hepatitis, and getting tested for one can often mean getting tested for others. It's important to discuss your risk factors with your healthcare provider to determine which tests are right for you.
