Had been experiencing jaw pain for a few days and I knew I wouldn’t be able to see my dentist until at least Monday. I was hesitant to go urgent care on a Saturday, I assumed I’d be waiting forever and for jaw pain, they wouldn’t be able to do much. But actually, I reserved a spot online and they took me right away. The medical assistant and doctor were so nice, helped me as best as they could, and sent me home with a prescription that eased the pain tremendously the next day. I’d never been to this location before but I’m glad I made the trip and the next time I need to go to urgent care, I’ll be going here. Thank you everyone at AFC Piscataway !

The check in computer machines were too complicated for Senior Citizens and individuals who are not computer savvy.  We had to use several check in machines to check in. The receptionist had to use two machines before she could check us in. Staff was very nice.

This was our first time here. My son very rarely has to be seen at the doctor & was quite apprehensive leading up to our appointment. Our nurse (unsure of her name), was super sweet & was very good with Austin. She was encouraging when he seemed nervous which was great. Our doctor, I believe her first name was Alissa, was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely helpful in explaining his diagnosis & treatment to me…but more importantly she was amazing with my son. She was so gentle & kind…to the point where, after we left, Austin said “I’m not afraid of the doctor anymore!”  The office is pristine, the front desk secretary was very nice & making our appointment was easy, too!  Thank you for making our experience a seamless, painless one. We will recommend & we will be back (but hopefully not for a long time, haha!) Thank you again!!!!!

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who has been exposed to the virus should get tested for hepatitis. This includes individuals who have shared needles, had unprotected sex, or have a mother who was infected at the time of birth. It is also recommended for those who have traveled to areas with high rates of hepatitis, or have been in close contact with someone who has the disease. In Jamesburg, NJ, it is particularly important for residents to get tested due to the prevalence of the disease in the area.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it can lead to serious health complications if left untreated, such as liver disease or cancer. Early detection allows for prompt treatment, which can prevent these complications and improve health outcomes. According to the CDC, testing can also help prevent the spread of the disease to others.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Jamesburg

Jamesburg, located in Middlesex County, NJ, has seen a significant number of hepatitis cases in recent years. While the exact number fluctuates, it remains higher than the national average, according to the CDC. This prevalence is similar to that in nearby cities such as Monroe and Monroe Township.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Jamesburg

Several factors contribute to the high prevalence of hepatitis in Jamesburg. These include a high rate of injection drug use, unprotected sex, and close contact with infected individuals. The prevalence of other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis in the area may also contribute to the spread of hepatitis.

Other STDs in Jamesburg

In addition to hepatitis, Jamesburg has seen a significant number of cases of other STDs including gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis. These diseases often co-occur, and individuals infected with one STD are at higher risk of contracting others. This underscores the importance of regular STD testing for sexually active individuals in the Jamesburg area.
