My husband had been in a few days earlier tested negative for Flu, Covid, and RSV but chest x-ray showed a little pneumonia. I started coughing Thursday night so I went straight in on Friday hoping to head it off at the pass but the doctor ran no test, said she didn’t hear wheezing even though I was and every the xray tech heard it. She gave me some cough pills and sent me on my way. I have continued to deteriorate now having sore throat and on and off spiking a low fever. Not impressed with the care I received. The PA my husband had was far more attentive. Update: The head doctor called me personally because he found this unacceptable and had me go back in for testing. I tested positive for Influenza A so I really appreciated his due diligence to get me answers so I have adjusted my overall score to reflect his efforts. Thank you Dr. Shital-Hiten Upadhyay.

Had been fighting an upper respiratory infection for a week and was not getting better. Was dreading having to go to the Urgent Care but this experience was so different! Was in & out fast, staff were all incredibly nice and helpful, the check in was fast and the facility was clean. Hope to not need to go again but if I do would not hesitate to go here again.

This was my first time there. I’m a veteran and most of the time have a hard time with walk in clinics. However, Chole at the front desk made things so much easier. The MA who did my vitals was very understanding and the NP I seen was great. From the time I walked in until I left, they all were great!!!

Didn’t hesitate to choose  this facility for the second time when I needed attention for compacted ear wax… the day AFTER my annual physical with PCP who looked in my ears and said NOTHING! Efficient check in process, humane interactions with every staff member involved in my care … thank you Pinellas Park AFC!🫶🏽

About Prostate Screening (PSA) Testing

Overview

Prostate Screening (PSA) Testing is a blood test used to measure the level of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in the blood. PSA is a protein produced by the prostate gland, and elevated PSA levels may indicate prostate conditions, such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or prostate cancer. PSA Testing is essential for early detection, diagnosis, and monitoring of prostate-related issues, helping healthcare providers assess prostate health and determine the appropriate course of action.

Who Should Get Tested

If you reside in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, and are a male aged 50 or older, or if you have a family history of prostate cancer, Prostate Screening (PSA) Testing is recommended. For individuals at higher risk, such as African American men or those with a family history of early-onset prostate cancer, testing may begin at age 45.

Tests Included in Prostate Screening (PSA) Testing

Prostate Screening (PSA) Testing includes the measurement of PSA levels in the blood.

Interpreting the Results

The interpretation of Prostate Screening (PSA) Testing results is based on the level of PSA in the blood. Elevated PSA levels may indicate prostate enlargement or the presence of prostate cancer. However, further evaluation, including a prostate biopsy, is necessary to confirm a cancer diagnosis.

Importance of Prostate Screening (PSA) Testing

Prostate Screening (PSA) Testing is important for:

  • Early detection of prostate conditions, including prostate cancer
  • Monitoring prostate health in individuals at risk of prostate issues
  • Guiding appropriate diagnostic procedures, such as a prostate biopsy
  • Initiating timely treatment for prostate cancer, if detected

Following the Test

After Prostate Screening (PSA) Testing, healthcare providers review the results with individuals and offer recommendations based on the findings. Elevated PSA levels may warrant additional tests, such as a prostate biopsy, to further evaluate the prostate and determine the appropriate treatment plan.

Prostate Screening (PSA) Testing is a critical tool for monitoring prostate health and detecting potential issues early in individuals in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Early detection and appropriate management can significantly improve the prognosis for prostate conditions.
