Urgent care
Lab testing
Although I had an appointment, I still had to wait a half hour before my turn. I had to explain why I was there to 3 people: the MA, the intern, then the provider. My symptoms included cough, congestion, headache, sore throat. When I came 3 months earlier with similar symptoms, I was prescribed one medication for cough and another for congestion. This time I was not given any prescriptions. I would not have wasted my time if I knew I would not be given a prescription to relieve my symptoms.

Cory was amazing. My only major concern was that I identified that my daughter had a medication allergy and the APRN who saw us prescribed the one she was allergic to (which I picked up at the pharmacy and paid for) and I had to call back and get a different one. If they document allergies, that should not be ignored when prescribing.

About Syphilis Testing

Who should get tested for syphilis?

Anyone who is sexually active can contract syphilis, particularly those with multiple partners or those who engage in unprotected sex. It is particularly important for pregnant women to get tested, as untreated syphilis can lead to severe complications for both mother and child. Men who have sex with men should also be regularly tested, as they represent a disproportionately high number of syphilis cases.

Importance of getting tested

Syphilis is a highly infectious disease that can lead to serious health problems if left untreated, including damage to the heart, brain, and other organs. Early detection and treatment can prevent these complications. Moreover, testing is crucial to prevent the spread of the disease to others. According to the CDC, regular testing is the most effective way to control the spread of syphilis.
