Urgent care
Loved the lady in reception, super nice and even the guy who did my blood pressure was super helpful and friendly. The doc who saw me was very rude and almost combative. She was supposed to send script for my Covid meds but I  still waiting for her to do so. I’ve called and asked to send them again but still waiting for script to be received.

Urgent care
I had no problems scheduling or checking in. Had severe shoulder pain. Made an appointment. Very minimal wait time before I was called back. The physician was caring and concerned and shared her similar experience. She was very helpful and sent me home with a sling and called in my prescription. ALL of the staff were very courteous and positive 😊.  I would recommend this provider.

Urgent care
Able to make appointment the same day. Check-in very easy. Roxanne was great. She apologized for the wait (it wasn't very long though). She was caring and very efficient. Eric, the provider, was also great. Very good bed-side manner. Explained everything and made sure my questions were answered. This is my go to Urgent Care clinic every time.

I am so sick. Went here and was given excellent care. The nurse was excellent and the nurse practitioner was knowledgeable, kind, and humorous. I needed that! I’ve got the bad flu and they put me on fluids. I feel better.

Let me start by saying that our family always comes to next care for when we need urgent care. The doctor I saw today was wonderful and did an excellent job assessing my symptoms and evaluating my problem. She was kind and gentle and explained everything she said in detail. My triage nurse, however, was extremely unprofessional. She asked what medication I was on and when I explained to her why I was taking it, she brought up politics. She went on about how the former president is an idiot. When I told her I felt the opposite and that I liked our former president, she kept at it, saying he’s not the sharpest crayon in the box and how he wouldn’t shut his mouth. I came to NextCare because I was not feeling well, not to be shamed and spoken down to. That is no place to talk politics, it is a place for care. She needs to keep those thoughts to herself and out of her bedside chit chat.

I had such an incredible experience. With all of the anxiety and craziness surrounding the pandemic, I was a little anxious going in. They by far had the friendliest urgent care staff I’ve ever had the privilege to work with. I was in and out quickly, with minimal wait times. My provider was understanding, thorough, and kind. I felt instantly relieved just being heard and listened to. I highly recommend this Urgent Care! Thank you so much for all you do. Keep up the amazing work!

I have used this Urgent Care prior to today and been very happy and satisfied. However today was absolutely awful! The PA had no bedside manner and was quite rude and literally provided no care for my illness. I had to ask him to check my sore throat or he would have just sent me on my way. He actually asked me what was I doing at this facility. I left in tears. He needs a few lessons on how to treat people.

I thought everyone at the Taos urgent care center did a great. The man at the front desk who checked me in was very patient and listened carefully to my situation. He ge gave me the proper forms and gave me an accurate estimate of my meet time with my provider. My provider and her assistant were kind, professional and efficient. I thank everyone who took care of me today, Yes, I would recommend this clinic. I booked my appointment in person.

I wanted to be seen right away and not in a hospital setting. Masks were required and seating was outside in the fresh air. I filled out my paperwork and it seemed like only minutes I was called in to see the doctor. Everyone was very professional and I was taken care of right away. I was made comfortable and had X-rays done and was out in about 45 minutes!! I will return to urgent care . Thank you…

I was so very impressed by this facility. Everyone was very organized and professional. I was very fortunate that there were not very many other patients. I was seen within 10 minutes of arrival. Saw the doctor within the next 10, then on my way. Clean, organized, professional. I would highly recommend and this will be my go to urgent care facility for as long as I live in Rio Rancho.

This is my favorite urgent care center. Things are organized and things just feel calmer here than any other place I have been. The provider was clearly capable and had a great bedside manner. Right now without an appointment wait times though can be in the hours timeframe. The good news is that they tell you how long when you arrive so you can choose to stay or not.

The young lady who helped when I first walked in was excellent. She is super friendly and really knows how to talk to the patients. All the PAs that helped the Dr today were awesome as well. I believe TAOS has great care for patients. It is very busy this time of year and we all have to have patience. Thank you all at Urgent Care.💙👍

This is the first time I have used Urgent Care in Taos NM. I was a walk-in and was out and very satisfied in an hour and one half. All staff were friendly and courteous. The Med tech and the doctor were excellent and very professional. I will go to this game Uluru again if I need Immediate care. NHaelen

There were quite a few people, but it seemed to be moving along at about 1 person every 15 minutes. The PA that I saw is wonderful! His name is Ryan and I’m always grateful it’s him that I get to see! I was in and out within an hour and for an urgent care that’s pretty good!

Overall a pretty good experience with NextCare Urgent Care through Solv. My only objection would be the required entry of credit card information without any sort of projected cost. I'm uncomfortable providing my CC without knowing if or for how much it will be charged. Even a ballpark estimate would be nice. Other than that it was good.

I was feeling really awful, literally too sick to make it to the closest Urgent Care, so I was thrilled to find a Telehealth option. The P.A. was kind and efficient, so that within an hour I had my medication and instructions, and 6hrs later I was feeling better than I had in several days! So very grateful

Urgent Care for me was pleasant, professional and efficient. The PA Mike Bellis is knowledgeable and excellent. I signed up in advance, and the registration process with Monique was smooth & easy. I was there only one hour total, and the prescriptions were sent directly to my pharmacy. If I could give six stars, I would!

Awesome! I’ve never done a tele call and it was great given the pandemic. I didn’t want to bother by going in to the urgent care and taking up resources for other people with worse issues. The provider was awesome and friendly, he got my symptoms down and prescription ready so fast. Thank you!

I appreciated being able to access Taos Urgent Care with a video visit. My doctor was friendly, knowledgeable, and able to assess my symptoms, to prescribe treatment and a referral. If one doesn't have a gp, I would definitely recommend a virtual or actual visit to Taos Urgent Care for non- emergency medical conditions.

Switched insurance companies so I had to find a new urgent care facility. Came across Next Care and was pleasantly surprised. The facility was clean, minimal wait time and the provider was knowledgeable. I was in and out in less than an hour. I will return here and also recommend care here.

Urgent Care in New Mexico

New Mexico has some specific challenges that affect its healthcare environment specifically regarding poverty and immigration. Luckily, walk-in clinics and urgent care centers help fill some of the gaps that prevent people from receiving adequate care.

Poverty is New Mexico's biggest challenge when it comes to healthcare access. Nineteen percent of the state's residents live below the poverty line. The U.S. average is 14.3 percent. New Mexico also has a fairly large population of undocumented immigrants. Even though only 4.3 percent of the people in New Mexico are undocumented immigrants, that still equals 85,000 people. Many of these immigrants fear healthcare facilities because they worry about deportation.

Urgent care centers provide non-emergency services such treating minor injuries, prescribing medications, and diagnosing common illnesses. Urgent care centers are open after business hours, so people can visit them even after most physicians have closed for the day. These centers usually charge lower fees than emergency rooms. That helps people get the assistance they need without paying excessive ER prices. While having insurance can help lower urgent care center prices even more, even those without insurance can benefit from reliable care at cheaper rates.

Walk-in clinics provide basic health services. People without insurance often find that they get the best price by using these clinics. Clinics offer limited medical services, but they can meet the needs of most non-emergency health events, such as allergic reactions, minor injuries, and long-lasting pain. Many walk-in clinics also administer immunizations to protect communities from common illnesses.

Urgent Care FAQs

  • How much will an urgent care visit in New Mexico cost?

The price charged at an urgent care, whether in New Mexico or elsewhere, will be based on the location, and there are no actual standard costs between the clinics. Assuming you are paying with cash, you might come across an urgent clinic that charges you $50 while another situated some mile away charges you $100 for the same services. The standard cost in urgent care where insurance cover is not involved ranges from $100 to $125. This price is generally the standard price of a visit before extra services. There are a couple of additional care services that could make your appointment to an urgent care costly including x-rays and lab tests, medications and injections (such as immunization), casting broken bones, as well as stitches and splints. If you have a viable insurance plan in place, the standard pay will be between $20 – 50 depending on your insurance coverage and whether you are in contact with the provider.

  • Are New Mexico urgent care centers open after hours?

  • Do urgent care centers in New Mexico take appointments?

  • What is the best urgent care center in New Mexico?

While it would be easy to provide a list of urgent care centers in and around New Mexico, 'best' is a challenging term to qualify. • What is Urgent Care?

Urgent care is available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.
