Staff and nurses were really nice. When it came time for the doctor to come in he seemed nice and had good intentions but his bedside manner wasn't very great. I was in immense pain, and had to drive myself due to it being a weekday. Was under a lot of stress and after doing a quick evaluation he spent quite a while on his computer in silence. Just to lean over a bit later and tell me I needed to go to the ER. He did his job, and didn't do anything outright bad, just felt a bit disconnected from the patient unlike other doctors I had been seen by during previous occasions at the same place.

Please make a note of the following text: "The overall scheduling process was great, as usual. The check-in process met the usual high standards with friendly front desk staff. The nurses were good. However, the doctor who saw me for only 30 to 40 seconds seemed disinterested and uncaring. He didn't seem to put in any effort and barely listened to me when I tried to explain how sick I was feeling. I didn't even get the chance to tell him about my episodes of cold sweats, trembling, cramps, and nausea. He walked in and out of the room while I was still talking. He refused to consider the possibility that I might have been exposed to something dangerous. I have always been more than happy with Indigo; they have some of the most impressive people I've ever met in the medical field. As a CNA and a massage therapist for 30 years, that says a lot! If this were my first experience, I would be on Yelp, Google, etc. Warning everyone to stay away and avoid, if possible, the whole organization! I would recommend that you not allow your wonderful reputation to be destroyed by this person!"

Recent COVID-19 Testing Reviews (20)

Go here first!!! After 4 hours of research I found this place - and I’m so glad I did! I was able to get an appointment within 2 hours, there was virtually no wait, and they have an excellent system set up. As well, I was able to download their app (Solv) which made things even smoother! We needed a Covid test for traveling - without any symptoms and having no contact with anyone who was ill. Other places turned us away immediately, required a virtual visit first or charged $130-170 upfront. Solv took our insurance, gave us a 1-3 day turn around time, and wished us through. The only problem I had was finding this place on the web. But now I’ve got the app on my phone, which is a relief for no doubt future visits.

It was my first time at a COVID testing place, so I didn't know what to expect. I honestly thought it was going to be more difficult than it was. I am, however, looking forward to hear back from them to hear what my results will be.

- Verified patient on 4/27

I stopped by for information about getting a test because I did not have an appointment. They said no problem, just go ahead and pull up and get tested. Very knowledgeable and helpful in getting a covid test. Thank you so very much.

- Verified patient on 12/9

Fast, effective, efficient and excellent testing center. Easy to schedule an appointment, show up to the test center, sign in and wait 5 minutes to be tested. I arrived before the Saturday lunch time rush. Staff was very friendly, helpful and thorough always, maintaining distance and clearly communicating next steps and wait time. The covid test results were delivered within 24 hours as explained by the staff. Thank you!

- Verified patient on 1/4

Quick and easy COVID testing. They had me do the nose swab myself which I was nervous about, but thankfully it didn't have to go far up my nostril so it wasn't bad at all. I did my test in the afternoon and got my result the next morning!

- Verified patient on 11/23

They were quick and painless and much more informative than my previous experiences with COVID testing sites. They weren’t overly friendly but they were efficient and to the point and honestly if I was them I’d be over it too🤣 they were great! Not unfriendly at all. 12/10 recommend. Except hopefully not bc COVID can kick rocks you know? Anyways.

I have scheduled Covid testing through SOLV over the year and a half that we have been working through this pandemic. Every time I have been greeted with positive folks and healthcare providers. I appreciate what you are doing to keep our Families, Friends, and Communities safe. Thank you!

First time going to do something like this COVID testing. I was not sure what to expect. Made us feel very comfortable and they also had very great Attitudes. Later test results easy to get. I would Definitely recommend anyone to go to this facility

- Verified patient on 2/21

It was my first Covid test. Very little wait time, not many there for testing. Everyone was friendly and gave precise directions of what to do or where to go. A nice lady guided me through the process. Gave instructions on how to find out results. On the text prior to appt it said to bring photo ID. Nobody asked for ID, except for verifying my name, birthdate and that I had an appointment. Good customer service. Maybe a little hard to find at first, but it works.

This is my first review after many visits to the Snohomish Health District drive-thru COVID testing sites. They are so well-run, and the results come back so quickly compared to clinic-run tests. The staff and volunteers are always great. They take safety seriously -- but always with smiles. It's always been a positive experience.

- Verified patient on 9/1

Excellent service for our covid test (asymptomatic) in all ways. Staff was friendly and efficient! And....perhaps BEST of all, less than 24 hours (tested around 2 PM on Friday and results scanned Saturday morn before 7:30 AM) after our test, we received negative results!!!! Thanks for doing a demanding job with grace. May God bless one and all during these unprecedented times!!

- Verified patient on 11/13

I’m literally angry about my previous Covid test experiences after having one done here. These nasal swabs are completely painless. The staff was so caring because they could see I was nervous based on my previous Covid testing experiences. The staff was very very kind, which made a difference. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. I am in disbelief at how much better this was handled than where I usually get tested in Florida. Thank you Snohomish County!!!

- Verified patient on 12/12

Couldn’t have been more pleasant (well as pleasant as a COVID test can be). I do want to take a moment & give a shout out to the amazing woman that administered my test. She is a gem & if you have a way to know who it is (beautiful older woman in Lane 2 around 1:40pm), please send her some kudos. Very kind, empathetic, and amazing person.

This is the second time we’ve had Covid tests at this clinic and it has been very seamless and easy. With two young kids, it can be difficult but they have kept it very simple and even provide stickers for the kids to make it less scary.

- Verified patient on 3/12

This is an easy, fast way to get a COVID test. I have been through this site twice with my son now and both times they have a lot of appt available and the results come back quickly. This last time I did see one of the nurses blow her nose with her gloves on and I was really hoping she changed them before assisting another patient.

- Verified patient on 11/12

Snohomish Health District has got it down to a perfect science for Covid testing. Got there 15 prior to our appt. (there were 3 of us) and left before the first appt was even suppose to start. Everyone was extremely nice and very helpful. Way to go guys!!! Great job!!!

- Verified patient on 1/7

I was very happy with how the Covid testing went. My family of 4 and I took 20 minutes from the time we checked in to the time we were finished. Overall - in this crazy time we are in - this was a painless process.

- Verified patient on 12/9

My husband and I were first time visitors to this drive through Covid test facility. This was our first Covid test. The site was very well organized. It was sufficiently staffed. Lots of signs and staff directions, friendly manner, smiles. The staff was patient. We drove to our designated lane where we repeated/verified our name and DOB. The staff ensured minimum contact at all times to maintain safe distance and protection for everyone. We were given clear, precise instructions through the car window. We administered the nasal swab test ourselves under the direction of personnel. She even gave us a hand signal while counting the ten nose swabs in each nostril to ensure we obtained a viable sample for testing. We were also provided the QR code needed to check our results in 24 hours. Excellent service overall. Many thanks to the entire staff who provided the service today.

- Verified patient on 2/27

In and out very quickly. Self-administered COVID test was very well explained. While nervous, I felt safe and in good care with everyone in PPE and utilizing my car window as an additional 2-way shield. Hope to never go through it again for obvious reasons, but if I get another COVID scare, at least I know the test will be fast, safe and easy. Make sure to make an appointment, do your paperwork from home on your phone and this will take no longer than the drive thru getting coffee.

- Verified patient on 11/25

I am so relieved to have had such a pleasant experience this morning. This was my first covid test. I was very nervous about the whole process. But as soon as I arrived I was greeted by a very nice woman who was friendly and explained the process in detail. She got me checked in and sent me on my way to the next friendly, and knowledgeable staff member who walked me through the test. Both with big smiles that eliminated my nerves. I was in and out of the drive through testing center in under 10 minutes. It will definitely be my recommendation to any friends or family that need testing. THANK YOU staff at SHD for all the important work you are doing to keep our community safe! You are the unsung heroes of this pandemic.

Everett COVID Testing & Rapid Testing

Types of COVID Tests

There are two types of coronavirus tests (COVID-19 tests) available, those that can test for a current infection (viral test) and those that can test for a past infection (antibody test).

Viral COVID testing can be done in a few different ways, the most common being nose swabs, but saliva tests are becoming more popular. Some tests are processed out on-site and can provide results in as little as 30 minutes. These are called rapid COVID tests. The majority of tests, on the other hand, are collected at the clinic on-site and then submitted to off-site labs for processing. Results can take up to 2-3 days to arrive.

Antibody testing looks for a past infection and may not reveal if you have an active COVID-19 infection because antibodies can take up to three weeks to form in your body. The presence of COVID antibodies may help to prevent you from becoming infected with the same virus again; but, because the clinical understanding of COVID-19 is still developing, it's unclear how long that protection will continue.

Who should get tested for current infection

The CDC currently defines four instances where COVID testing is recommended:

  1. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
  2. If you have been in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19. Close contact is defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. If you have been vaccinated, or tested positive in the past 3 months and not experiencing symptoms, you do not need to be tested.
  3. If you are unvaccinated and participated in high-risk activities where distancing is not an option. This could include travel, large social or mass gatherings, crowded indoor settings, etc.
  4. If you have been referred to get a COVID test by your healthcare provider or local health department.

How is testing done for COVID-19?

Most COVID tests are collected by a nasal swab. A member of the medical team puts a swab inside your nose for a few seconds on each side to collect the sample. After that, the samples are packaged according to CDC guidelines and tested on-site or transported to a facility for testing. The lab will test samples for the presence of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID infection and either your care provider or the lab will notify you with the results as soon as they are available.

PCR vs Antigen Testing

Viral COVID tests are available as molecular and antigen tests. The molecular test, also known as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, usually delivers results within a few days since most of these tests are sent to offsite labs for analysis. The average turnaround time for PCR test results is 48 hours, but in some instances may be significantly longer due to backlogs related to insufficient lab volume and capacity. Antigen tests are also known as rapid tests and have an average turnaround time of between 15 to 30 minutes.

Both PCR and rapid COVID tests can be used to test people exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, those who were close contacts to COVID-19, and those without COVID-19 symptoms who live or work in a high-risk setting (such as a nursing facility); or those individuals who are identified as part of outbreak detection and response. The rapid COVID test is also recommended for the screening of residents or healthcare workers at skilled nursing facilities along with a PCR confirmation, and for repeat screening for the early detection and prevention of outbreaks in congregate settings (such as schools, workplaces, and prisons).

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. To reduce the risk of facing extra costs related to COVID testing, ask your primary care doctor to recommend a free COVID test site, and confirm there are no charges or fees for the test that are not covered by your insurance plan. Additionally, avoid getting a COVID test at a hospital or free-standing emergency room, as these facilities may charge fees for COVID testing and related services.

COVID-19 Testing FAQs

  • How much does COVID testing cost in Everett?

In many cases, COVID testing can be free. Many state and local health departments continue to offer free testing to community residents as part of their response to the pandemic. In other cases, commercially insured patients, or those on Medicare or Medicaid, may receive testing at no out of pocket cost, or with a nominal office visit copay. For cash paying patients, or those that need rapid COVID testing which will deliver results in under an hour, COVID tests can range from $50 to $150 each. It is best to call your healthcare provider prior to getting tested to better understand the cost of the specific test you require.

  • Where can I get free COVID testing in Everett?

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. Check with your Everett-area health department as they are generally a good source for free COVID tests, or can at least point you in the right direction. Additionally, you can ask your primary care provider to recommend a free COVID test site.

  • Where can I get COVID testing in Everett?

COVID testing is available at many outlets near Everett including urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care offices, health departments, and more. Different venues will have different types of tests available, many at different price points. Some testing sites are allowing walk-in patients, however, many are still requiring some degree of advance booking to control patient volume.

  • Where can I get a rapid COVID test in Everett?

Rapid testing—both PCR (molecular) and antigen tests—is offered through many Everett-area urgent care centers and physician offices, usually at an additional cost ranging from $50 up to $150 per test. Usually this will allow you to get results back in under an hour, and require advanced booking through the provider. However, if you can wait 24 hours for your results, many labs are turning around send-out lab tests in that time frame, which could save you some money.

  • How to make an appointment for COVID testing in Everett?

Same-day and next day appointments for COVID testing in Everett are bookable directly through Solv. Simply browse the list of healthcare providers conducting COVID tests above, find one with a “Book Online” button, and book a time that aligns with your schedule stating “COVID-19 Test” as your reason for visit.

  • Can I get tested for antibodies if I am sick with COVID-19 Everett?

An antibody test for COVID-19 might inform you if you previously had a coronavirus infection. Because it can take between 1–3 weeks after an infection for your body to develop these antibodies, an antibody test during an active infection would not be successful. To see if you are currently infected, you need a viral test.

  • Do I need a COVID test if I have been vaccinated?

Even if you have been fully vaccinated, if you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, experts believe that you should be tested yourself, particularly if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms commonly aligned with the coronavirus.

  • How long does COVID testing take?

Getting a COVID test is quick. Most tests are done with a nasal swab, which takes less than a minute to swab both nostrils. Depending on where you get your COVID test, this means you could be in and out of the testing site in as little as 10-15 minutes. During busy times—particularly around holidays—testing sites may be busier than usual and wait times may be longer.

  • How long does it take to get COVID test results in Everett?

Most labs are returning send-out molecular (PCR) COVID test results within 24-48 hours of the test. Some sites take longer, so call and ask if the reason for the test is proof for travel. Rapid COVID tests are processed on-site and are able to deliver results in under an hour, sometimes in as little as 15 min.

  • Do COVID tests detect the Delta variant and Omicron variant?

Regular COVID tests are able to detect both the Delta variant and Omicron variant in that they can determine whether or not you have the coronavirus. However, they can't tell which variation is involved. That would necessitate genomic sequencing, which is a different process from regular virus testing that not all labs can undertake. Sequencing is uncommon and can cost up to $100 per test. Since the treatment is the same for any variant, it is not clinically useful to an individual patient to know whether the infection was caused by a variant or not.
