Herpes Test
Came home from work and noticed that my child had a high fever. Her pediatrician office was closed so I googled and saw that this urgent care was opened. It was super easy scheduling an appointment on my phone and sending my insurance information with just a picture. There was probably a 25 min wait time to be put in a room but it’s an urgent care so considering that it’s not bad at all since the waiting area was full. Everyone was super friendly from the front desk guy to the MA and especially the Dr. She took her time examining my daughter and explaining the care and treatment process. Thank you for listening and caring, I would highly recommend.

Getting Tested for STDs in West New York, NJ

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, especially if they have multiple partners or are not using protection consistently. People who have symptoms such as unusual discharge, itching, or pain during sex should also seek testing. According to the CDC, it's recommended that everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 get tested for HIV at least once as part of routine health care.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for maintaining good sexual health. Many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning they don't show any symptoms, but they can still be harmful and spread to others. Early detection through testing can lead to quicker treatment, helping to prevent complications and spread of the disease. Regular testing also contributes to a healthier community by reducing the overall prevalence of STDs.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those without insurance or with limited financial resources, free STD testing is available at community health centers. These centers often operate on a sliding fee scale based on income, making testing more accessible to everyone.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for those who prefer privacy and convenience. These kits can be ordered online and come with instructions for collecting a sample, which is then sent to a lab for testing. Results are usually available online within a few days.
