Short Wait Time

Went to Cherokee Blvd Urgent Care as a walk-in out of concern for possible flu, since I had developed nagging cough after being with my father as he passed due to flu-related issues, and staying with him and my family, some of which were also being treated for flu, during his wake and funeral. After hearing my concern, Dr Sara tested for flu and covid, and performed an exam to check for other issues. Doctor and staff were exceptionally friendly and compassionate, prescribed necessary medications, and treated my wife and I on a personal basis that was above and beyond expectations for a doctor visit.

I had a serious problem with my back..My Doctor Carolyn Meyer saw the pain I was in and showed real concern for the problem with her skills and provided me with medication that helped. From there she had made sure that I was taken care of thru outside help that was not in her  specialty.. that meant a lot. Special thanks to her.

Checkin was straightforward, fill in some paper work and insurance info.  After a few minutes I spoke with the doctor, review the issue, sent out for labs, and received medication.  Very helpful staff.

I cannot complain about the office staff, provider, or facility appearance. We usually have a positive experience here. Today was the same. However, I noticed a tray of condoms on the counter in exam room 1 like a tray of party favors. I have young kids.  Thankfully, they did not ask what they were or even notice them, but I don’t think this is a good practice. They should be put away. I have never seen this at a doctor’s office or urgent care office.

When I checked in I was told the wait was 45 minutes to an hour but it was more than 2 hours before I was seen.  However, it is cold and flu season so I understand somewhat.  Everyone was super friendly and I received good care.

Short Wait Time

This place is amazing. I have no insurance so the appointment was 120$ please keep in mind the payment is due upfront! Wait time - less than 10 minutes (whole thing only took about 30/40) Scheduling - I was a walk in Check in - beyond easy! If you use your phone to preregister I imagine it would be even quicker but mine only took me 5 minutes and the receptionist offered help! Staff - phenomenal. They are amazingly friendly! I'm a yapper and don't go to the doctor often. They listened to me tell them exactly what my issue has been and for how long. They offered comfort and assistance as needed and took me seriously without judgement! This is the first place I've been to where I felt seen as a patient and not a $$$ Care - again amazing! I had an issue with my ear (ear infection maybe ruptured ear drum) they took every step necessary to assist with my issue and had me in an out in a jiffy! Tldr - payment required up from. 100% WOULD recommend. Will be coming again if I need to be seen!

I was very surprised with my experience here. My appointment was made very quickly. I was seen in a very short period of time. My test results came back in a very timely manner. I was able to speak with a doctor soon after and was taking care of. I was very satisfied with the experience I had here. I definitely recommend using them for any issues you have or any questions you may have.

I came in one day without an appoint and waited two hours as a walk-in before I had to leave without being tested. I made an appointment through Labcorp for the next day, showed up on time, got tested easily and was on my way in 15-20 minutes. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Everything was really great, actually the best walk-in clinic I’ve visited. Wait time to be seen wasn’t bad at all. The only reason I deducted 2 stars for it was because I was in an exam room for over an hour for only a Covid test. I know every business has their slow days though so I’d still highly recommend!

Everything was close to perfect except for the 4 hour wait and then 2 more hours in an exam room. But - I do understand the staff is overwhelmed today with COVID testing etc. The “reserve your spot” is misleading. Clarification is needed - it is not an appointment. Thank you!

I was in the office for almost 5 hours for a Covid test. At least 15 patients went ahead of me that were not there when I was there. I was told I would have the results in from my test in 15 minutes. It took an hour and 15 minutes. There’s no reason I had to wait around. This could’ve been done through a phone call or text. The staff was very friendly, but the wait time is ridiculous

Wait was long, even with an appointment. Experience would be much better if the patients there for COVID testing were required to wait in their vehicles. I don’t want to be exposed to covid if it’s something that can be done a different way.

Dr. Drumm was amazing! I really felt listened to and taken care of. He is very proactive in my healthcare and took the time to explain possible explanations, the tests we are doing to narrow it down, and possible treatments. I never felt rushed or brushed off. It truly was a great experience, if not the best, experience I have had with a doctor.

Wait little long only because COVID exposed myself to COVID for a dot physical not their fault government should stop physical and drug test during pandemic truckers get exposed and spread all over USA staff awesome and slammed they did say COVID patients on other side building but front door walk ins that don’t call first with COVID seems be some exposure there

Young woman at front desk had to call me up 3different times to get all the paperwork needed. 47 minute wait time for tb skin test to be placed and I was there at first opening

I thought I had a sinus infection, they tested me for Covid as I had been exposed last week. I tested positive in their facility. I qualified they told me for Antibody Infusion at the hospital which I received the next day. Feeling better after 3 days. I am on the mend but quarantined as instructed. Very Professional.

I went to AFC to get a COVID 19 travel PCR test. The staff and everyone were great. The only downside was that they allowed individuals in the vicinity knowing that they had COVID and they should have been ordered to go to their vehicles.

It was great but I forgot to ask for an excuse to return back to work.i did test positive for covid-19. Test results came back yesterday on the 18th from the health department so I was wondering when I can return back to work well my employer is wondering when I can come back to work so will I need to make another appointment for a follow-up or just take another covid test thank you

Went in for covid test. They also gave me flu and strep tests. Very kind staff. I honestly didnt expect an exam, but got tests and an exam and prescription. . I was there about an hour. Waited 10 mins in my car. Majority of wait time was test results which is out of their control. Prompt and friendly.

Went in for a COVID test, it took an hour from signing in to walking out with my negative test result. I think it is reasonable to take up to an hour for a walk in visit. I waited 20 minutes to see a nurse practitioner who delivered my negative test result. She was very friendly and interested in my health. I will return if I need medical advice!

- Verified patient on 5/7

The RN who saw me today was incredible. I tested positive for COVID & she showed me such compassion & encouragement it made me cry. She was very informative & made this dreaded diagnosis the best it could be. She even said she will pray for me. As she pointed out, thank goodness I was fully vaccinated in March, so my chances of staying out of the hospital are good. If you’ve not gotten vaccinated, please do yourself the biggest favor & do so today.

- Verified patient on 9/10

The wait time was long, but understandable. That being said, I came in for a physical and drug test. The staff made everything easy and clear, plus they were very nice and apologetic about the wait time.

I'm from Texas and developed cold/flu symptoms and feared it might be a Covid Delta variant breakthrough. I was able to get a same day appointment for a rapid Covid test. It wasn't COVID-19, but was a sinus infection and autoimmune response that caused swelling in my face and throat. Got a steroid shot and Rx for antibiotic. All of the staff was friendly and efficient. I wish we had a Physician's Care Clinic where I live!

I came in for possible bronchitis (I know that’s what I had- I have to baby myself this time of year or I die from it). Since COVID-19 has some of the same symptoms as bronchitis, I asked for that test. No problem- it was negative. Was treated for bronchitis- Azithromycin, Bensonate 200 mg, Allbuterol inhaler and Mucinex (which we had at home). Good job. I have to return (to an orthopedic appointment in 2 weeks- if I’m not totally better, I’m stopping back by on 11/29. Would recommend this urgent Care- very professional, fast and clean.

I got caught in a pickle needing a covid test for a trip within 48 hours of departure but most tests took 1 to 3 days and required a Dr .... Well they figured it out, looked up the policy, and made it happen that day. Saved the day and.my trip, thanks

- Verified patient on 10/29

The medical staff was terrific, very caring, and answered all my questions. However, the young man checking in patients needs to have more training on how to deal with patients in a positive manner. I was willing to pay for the Covid testing, but he questioned me on why I was having the testing done.

Decent wait time for a non-prescheduled appt. Service was quick once I was taken back to be seen with friendly staff. Sent off test results day of visit, with a week later and no one called me with results. Called office for test results over a week later and no one answered. Left voicemail with no returned phone call. Upset that I’ll be sent a bill with no results for what I’ll be paying for. Very unprofessional.

This was by far the best experience I've ever had at a medical provider's office, but even more so at a pediatrician's office. The wait time was minimal, the check-in process being digital on your phone was super convenient. I would absolutely recommend anyone with children use this urgent Care. The provider and staff was phenomenal with my daughter. Their main priority was to make sure that she was comfortable. Once her favorite broke and she was ready to play the nursing staff actually played with her, which absolutely stood out to me. She needed some testing that required a urine sample and once again their top priority was to make sure that she was comfortable. I'd also like to make a special note that in a world with covid, if someone has a fever or is showing any signs of covid people seem to shy away or change their demeanor, ever not one single staff member did in our case. Though she was negative for covid, it was nice to see that they still treated everyone equally. Thank you for that.

The first nurse who started my physical had a nasty attitude and complained under her breath about having to find the color blind test booklet while doing my physical. We had a slightly unpleasant talk about it and I asked for another nurse to finish my physical. She attempted to mold the disagreement around me not arriving with a mask on but wearing a mask was not the problem, her Jack Kevorkian temperament was. Her supervisor then finished my physical with no further issues. Entire staff with the exception of this one lady was pleasant and professional.

I was taken to a waiting room, and assessed by an intake nurse. Necessary testing was performed. Shortly, a friendly Dr. (Ballard) discussed my test results, eased my fears, and suggested a course of action. The entire process took less than an hour. Based of this an previous experiences I highly recommend AFC Urgent Care.

Chattanooga Lab Tests

Lab tests take samples of your blood, urine, saliva, and other bodily secretions, which are then analyzed in a lab to help doctors diagnose and treat certain illnesses. Lab tests can be used to diagnose an illness, detect changes in an existing condition, and monitor how your body responds to a therapy, among other things. They can also be used to monitor the progression of a disease or a set of diseases.

If your doctor is unable to make a definitive diagnosis of your disease, or if you are having a variety of symptoms that could indicate a variety of disorders, he or she may request a lab test. To see how you're responding to a drug or to check if you're at risk for certain diseases, lab tests may be performed.

Some lab tests require no preparation at all, while others may require you to fast for eight to twelve hours before the test in order to avoid erroneous results from certain meals and beverages. Your healthcare provider may advise you to cease smoking, exercising, and taking certain medications and nutritional supplements for many hours or days before your blood test.

Before your lab test, ask your doctor for precise instructions to follow to minimize erroneous results and multiple trips to the lab for additional testing. A lab worker may use a needle to draw blood from your arm or prick your finger to collect a small sample of blood during a blood test. During a urine test, your physician will ask you to go to the restroom and urinate in a sterile cup, then set your sample on a shelf where a lab technician can pick it up and process it. The personnel at the lab testing facility will demonstrate how to do each type of test.
